The patent

The society has changed very fast and many of new industries have risen up. By customers’ needs and society’s needs, companies who want to earn money have to find out new ideas and skills. In this situation, the patent is needed obviously for prevent still the idea or skill.

We’ve got the presentation about the patent. It could register not only existed things but also good ideas or skill. The step of register to patent is very complex and need to patient. They say it has to take at least 1 year and 6 months. Because of companies number in around the world, it could suggest the repeated patent between several companies to same(or very similar) idea or skill. For this problem, presenters said there is also international rule about the patent.

Their question is so interested. Have we to give the plus point for recruiting guy who has the some patents? It may be right if the company wants to people who could make pop up idea or his(her) patents are useful for the company. The other cases, however, it could not be merit for recruit just he(she) registered the patents. And if the new employees make a contract with company, they have to discuss about how to manage the patents and payment the price. 

About shut-down policy

The bad news for gamers is coming. Shut-down policy has accepted in our country. According to this policy, teenagers couldn’t play the game from AM 12 to AM 6. It has objects that prevent and reduce the addicted rate. There are very many addicted gamers in Korea. Most of people has addicted by online games such as MMORPG, FPS, Arcade, and so on. Government announced the assign of shut-down for MMORPG part because of its special figure to growth their own character. Many people expect to addicted rate will decrease by this policy.

But there are two limits for their goal. First, it’s easy to avoid the shut-down program. Teenagers could use their parent’s social security number. There is only checking system whether is it right or not between the name and social security number. Couldn’t figure out who is playing with the social security number.

Second, the policy has risen from civic groups and government, not game companies. The companies don’t like this policy for their profit. Without morals, they may don’t care whether teenagers addicted by game or not. Actually NC soft, the biggest online game company in Korea, changed their join policy. They announced to eliminate a type place to social security number, so could log-in without the resident registration number.

Nevertheless, the shut-down program is good choice. Although it couldn’t prevent from the root, I could see many people recognize that addicted computer game is bad. 

working time in Korea

Usually we could hear the article about labor working time in Korea. In last week, we could join the presentation with this subject. By the two beautiful presenters, our country has 1st ranked about labor working time in OCED countries. Although this hard working, we has recorded low efficiency.

If the hard working is not related with efficiency, why don’t they do working smaller? It’s hard for salaryman to go home earlier because of many reasons. Not only couldn’t go home early but a salaryman said the over working is unavoidable in company life.

What is the matter? They have to leave the company because of their boss. Korea is only divided country all over the world and in a truce. Army system has covered all society naturally. In army, as everyone knows, be keep the mind about obedience. 6 decades have passed since the Korean war was ended, the obedience remains in our society. Add on them, we have Confucianism mind: be respect your elder. It has changed little by little not only elder people, but the boss.

The work without passion could not relate in high efficiency. In Italy, they closed the shop near 4 pm. I hope to we faced with the same situation to Italy.

about the Abortion

I'm sorry to the blogger.com didn't work last 3 days.

The rate of abortion has grown up steadily. In last class, we discussed about the abortion. Why it happened, what is pros and cons. We discussed only visible part however. It was harmful to mother’s body or problem with money and time, not about effect to our society or country. So, I hope to think the abortion in this sight.

The abortion is a world-wide problem. Right for little life or right for mother’s life. Each side has reasonable arguments. Of course it’s important that little life and it’s important to mother’s remained life too. May be it is meaninglessness to weighing these factors to what is more important than the other one. Although these side’s maintenances are different, it is not natural event anyway. Abortion is operation by medical technology and as well as killing a little life. So I think prevent is more important that find the solution.

We could see advertisement about contraception although it’s hard to find in our country relatively. It’s very easy way to prevent the abortion and cheap. Overcoming the Confucianism color between men and women, marketing by media is needed. Education the responsibility and ethical mind in society may good way to reduce the abortion. Finally, give punisher heavier than now for sexual criminal to prevent crime.

About restoration project of Four Rivers

Although I had gotten military service in May 2nd so missed last class, I hope to think about this subject: The restoration project of four livers. It’s so sorry for me to have missed this presentation.

Lee Myeong-bak is the president of South Korea since 2008. He was a businessman in construction part. When he was mayor of Seoul, 2 things has changed. First, Cheong-kye stream was restored. To compare with before and after, Cheong-kye stream has cleared obviously. Citizens could receive their new rest place in center of city. Second, the bus system was changed not only Seoul but to the metropolitan areas. Although some people against this project, we could get enhanced transportation. Everyone welcomed to these changes and he could win in presidential election. His concept is “Be economically”.

His government had accepted to doing several processes over the country. One of his processes is the restoration project of four livers. This current event is continuing and arguing. What is the more important thing between to connect logistics way from cities to cities for economy or grow up substantially the education and public welfare?

I hope to see the four livers project in different view. It’s hard to say growing economy is spawn decrease the gap between the rich and the poor. Of course our society is not communist, it is unfair because hard worker couldn’t get their enough wages and enough welfare. It’s not the problem about money. It’s the problem about recognition. As the economy grew, the poor felt an ever greater sense of deprivation. People want to live with happiness and I think it is most important thing for society. If use the astronomical figure to welfare instead of four livers project, I think it will built society’s base more strongly. Hope to accept the noblesse oblige. 

Free meal system for students

One of subject today’s present was “Free school meals”. There were several arguments whether the free meal system is alright or not. Agree side said this is our duty of society. It means that help the lower income families is needed. There are several reasons for disagree the free meal systems because of government’s budget and realistic. 4 billion won is needed for the free meal so every people need to pay the taxes more about 100 thousand won every year. In these arguments, the free meal system has operated in Kyeongsangnam-Do.

I remember when the free meal system came out from media, most of people had thought about is it right or not. Every news had large amount of comments and I’ve got the feeling that between agree the system and disagree is like the progressives and the conservatives. At that time I threw my message to agree side and also in this time. It’s true that there are many of poor families in our country. The newsmagazine program from SBS played 2 months ago showed how to live the people who have lower income. Maybe more than most of people’s think, their live is very hard.

I wonder the government’s policy. Likewise oil price in last week, we have little resources and farming rate, domain. Only our weapon is ‘People’. Grow up the brain for our country and spread to worldwide is the best way to management future. Educate the children, teenagers and encourage the science and technology is very very important. But the Ministry of Information and Communication has disappeared since 2008 and many government's member say no education if don’t have money. The free meal system is just part of iceberg. I think it’s not way for our society and country.

Rising oil price in Korea

 There was a presentation about “rising the oil price” in April 4. The presentation gave us what would be current if the oil price is rise and why it has happened, and what can we do in this situation with two discussions. We could exchange several opinions for less use of oil, develop new energy resources.

 I want to see current problem that oil price with other sight. It’s true that oil price has grown over the global countries and the especially high oil price in Korea is also true. Of course we don’t have oil field sadly but it isn’t suitable price. We can hear easily oil companies gathering profit incredibly and sharing incentives. It means that we don’t have suitable cost in country for using the oil.

 The government said, however, “There is no excessive profits in oil companies.” Because of nearly 50% profits have gone to taxes. I wonder why the government has little charged rich guys’. It’s important problem for not rich guys. Same 10,000won has different meaning between rich and not. There is needs the pressure for taxes to rich guys more than ordinary people.

 So the government must impose sanctions against oil companies and must regard not only oil part but overall economic problem for citizens.
